The film Avatar, directed by James Cameron, addresses both the conscious and unconscious dimensions with its strong and effective visual presentation and includes postulates about the emotional intelligence indicators. The event pattern of the Avatar movie and the main characters' (a) awareness of emotions (b) emotion control (c) empathy (d) relationship management are analyzed at the base of theatrical expression in the study. Besides that, rather than the economic side of the film, its contributions to the development of emotional literacy in viewers are analyzed in the study. In accordance with the study's hypothesis, what are the emotional intelligence dimensions that are reflected by the characters in the Avatar? How the narration phases take places as compositional dimension in the theatrical structure? How do binary oppositions in serial dimension produce meanings and values in the indicator system? In accordance with these questions, in a way to contribute to the analysis of the film, the study is primarily emphasizing on the emotional intelligence indicators in the context of the relation between emotion-thought-action. In following, the movie's narration structure is analyzed out of the serial and compositional phases by considering the emotional intelligence indicators of the main characters and their uses of them .

Ara?tyrma savy do?rultusunda, Avatar filmindeki karakterlerin yansyttyklary duygusal zeka boyutlary nelerdir?. Sinemasal yapy içinde duygusal zeka perspektifinden anlaty evreleri dizimsel boyutta nasyl yer almaktadyr? Dizisel boyutta ikili kar?ytlyklar gösterge sistemi içinde anlamy ve de?erleri nasyl üretmektedir? Bu do?rultuda, filmin çözümlemesine katky sa?layacak biçimde, öncelikle duygu-dü?ünce-eylem ili?kisi ba?lamynda duygusal zeka göstergeleri üzerinde durulmaktadyr. Ardyndan filmin ana karakterlerinin duygusal zeka göstergeleri ve kullanymlary boyutunda filmin anlaty yapysy dizisel ve dizimsel evreler üzerinden çözümlenmektedir.
