The purpose of this study was to determine the role of body composition, leg volume and mass in determining the anaerobic performance in climbers. A total of 25 volunteer men climbers between the ages of 19-25 yrs( : 23.00±2.56 yrs) participated in this study. For the determination of body composition and somatotype components, subjects height, body weight, skinfold thickness, circumference and girth measurements were taken. Body fat percentage was determined by the Yuhasz formula and somatotype components were determined by using the Heath-Carter System. Circumferential measurement were used for the determination of leg volume by Frustum Method and after that, a regression formula was used. For this formulas, while the R square (R2) value was .95 and the standart error value was 0.056. Leg mass was determined by the Hanavan Method. The Wingate Anaerobic Power test (peak and average power) were used for the determination of anaerobic performance. According to the results of Stepwise Multiple Regression Analyses, lean body mass(LBM)(R=0.57,p=.001)and leg volume (R=0.57,p=.001) were significantly correlated with the peak power. LBM predicted 16.7% and leg volume predicted 32.4% of the peak power. In addition significant correlation was found between LBM(R=0.65, p=.001), leg mass(R=0.59,p=.001), leg volume(R=0.66,p=.001) with average power and LBM determined 13.2%, leg mass determined 28%, leg volume determined 44.7% of the average power. As a conclusion, the results of the present study indicated that LBM, leg mass and leg volume were important factors in determining anaerobic power and anaerobic capacity.

Bu çaly?ma da?cylarda vücut kompozisyonu, bacak hacmi ve kütlesinin anaerobik performansyn belirlenmesindeki rolünü belirlemek amacyyla yapylmy?tyr. Çaly?maya ya?lary 19-25 arasynda de?i?en( : 22.68±2.05 yyl) 25 gönüllü erkek da?cy katylmy?tyr. Deneklerin vücut kompozisyonu ve somatotip özelliklerinin belirlenmesinde;boy uzunlu?u, vücut a?yrly?y, deri kyvrym kalynly?y, çevre ve çap ölçümleri yapylmy?, ya? yüzdesinin belirlenmesinde Yuhasz formülü, somatotipin belirlenmesinde ise Heath-Carter yöntemi kullanylmy?tyr. Bacak hacmi (BH) frustum yöntemi ile belirlendikten sonra do?rusal regresyon formülü kullanylmy?tyr. Bu formülün tanymlayycylyk katsayysy R2=.95 ve kestirim standart hatasy .056'dyr. Bacak kütlesi (BK)ise Hanavan yöntemi ile belirlenmi?tir. Anaerobik performansyn belirlenmesinde Wingate anaerobik güç testi kullanylmy?tyr. Yapylan Çoklu Regresyon analizi sonuçlary anaerobik güç ile ya?syz vücut kitlesi (YVK)(R=0.41, p=.005)ve BH(R=0.57,p=.001) arasynda anlamly bir ili?ki oldu?unu göstermi?tir. YVK anaerobik gücün %16.7'sini belirlerken, BH ise %32.4'ünü belirlemektedir. Yine ortalama güç ile YVK (R=0.65,p=.001), BK(R=0.59, p=.001)ile BH(R=0.66,p=.001) arasynda anlamly bir ili?ki oldu?u ve YVK ortalama gücün %13.2'ini belirlerken BK %28'ini, BH ise %44.7'yny belirledi?i bulunmu?tur. Sonuç olarak bu çaly?mada elde edilen bulgular YVK, BH ve BK'sinin da?cylarda anaerobik güç ve kapasitenin belirlenmesinde önemli rol oynady?yny ortaya koymu?tur.
