Problems in the Interpretations of Ottoman Rebellions in the Early Modern Period: An Analysis and Evaluation of Existing Literature on the Ottoman Rebellions between 1550 and 1821

Öz

There is not a single critical study of Ottoman rebellions that encompasses the entire history and genealogy of uprisings in the Ottoman Empire for the time period between 1550 and 1821. Moreover, there has been almost no attempt at all to construct an explanatory template for “rebellions” in the Ottoman context, either.
