1091'DEKİ KUMAN SEFERLERİ

Öz

Kumanlar XI. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında Doğu Avrupa’da göründüler. Çalışmamın ilk bölümünde, Kumanların 1091 senesine kadar Bizans İmparatorluğu’na düzenledikleri saldırıların kısa bir incelemesine yer verdim. Onlar 1091 senesinde Bizans imparatoru Aleksios I Komnenos (1081-1118) ile birlikte Peçeneklere karşı savaştılar. Aleksios ve müttefikleri Kumanlar Lebunion Savaşı’nda Peçenekleri mutlak bir yenilgiye uğrattılar. Lebunion Savaşı’nda mağlup olan Peçenekler o dönemde Tuna Nehri’nin Bizans’a ait Paristrion bölgesinde yaşıyorlardı. Ve aynı yıl da Kumanlar Macar Krallığı’na saldırdılar. Bu çalışmanın amacı, şu üç soruya cevap aramaktır: 1. Kumanları Bizans İmparatorluğu’na kim davet etti? 2.Bizanslıların Peçeneklere karşı büyük bir zafer kazandığı Lebunion Savaşı’nda Kumanların rolü neydi? 3. Aynı yıl Macar Krallığı’na saldıran göçebeler bu Kumanlar olabilir mi?
