Bakımın Maddileşmesi: Çocuklar, 3D Baskılı Protezler ve Katılımcı Tasarım

Öz

Bu makale, çocuklar için geliştirilen üç boyutlu (3D) baskılı protezlerde bakım değerlerinin nasıl maddileştirildiğini ve bu süreçlerin çocukların toplumsal konumlandırılması üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektedir. “Sosyo-biyo-teknik bakım kompleksi” kuramsal çerçevesi kullanılarak, bakımın yalnızca ilişkisel ve duygusal bir değer değil, aynı zamanda tasarım pratikleri ve kullanım deneyimleri aracılığıyla teknik nesnelere ve günlük pratiklere nasıl gömülü olduğu analiz edilmektedir. Çalışma, bakım, güvenlik ve özerklik gibi değerlerin hem tasarımcılar hem de kullanıcı aileler ve çocuklar tarafından nasıl yorumlandığını ve maddi özelliklere (renk, malzeme, form) nasıl dönüştürüldüğünü araştırmaktadır. Yöntemsel olarak, çocukların özne olarak kabul edildiği, görüşmeler ve yaratıcı yöntemlerle desteklenen katılımcı gözlemle desteklenen etnografik yaklaşım benimsenmiştir. Bulgular, bakımın yalnızca teknik bir tasarım kriteri olmasının ötesinde çocukların öznel gündelik deneyimlerinde, aktif olarak yeniden müzakere edilen ve şekillendirilen dinamik bir toplumsal değer olduğunu göstermektedir. Makale, çocukların sosyoteknik yeniliklerde epistemik aktörler olarak nasıl konumlandığını ve bu katılımın bakımın hem teknik hem de toplumsal boyutlarını nasıl yeniden tanımladığını tartışmaktadır. Söz konusu yaklaşım, çocukluğu toplumsal ve tarihsel olarak inşa edilmiş bir kategori olarak ele alan eleştirel çocukluk çalışmaları ve teknik sosyoloji literatürüne katkı sunmaktadır.
