On The Turkish Proverbs in Armenian Alphabet Belonging to 19 th Century
Abstract
Throughout history, Turkish nations have
been communicated and interacted with the different nations and communities on
many areas in different geographies. One of these nations are Armenians.
Turkish-Armenian relations, Huns start to settlement to the Caucasus between
IV. and V. centuries. It has developed widely with the Kipchaks and also in the
Caspian regions as well as in the Crimea and Eastern Europa. So that some
Kipchak communities adopted the Gregorian that the religion of the Armenian
national church and they brought forth to written works with Armenian alphabet.
Turkish-Armenian relations are not limited to this and they lived together to
share the same geography in Seljuk and Ottoman periods. Armenians that living
in Turkey and as part of the Republic of Turkish show that the Turkish-Armenian
relations based on the tarie continue today.
During the Ottoman period, Armenians supported
an important role in the localization and especially they made in the field of
theater with the contributions and thus they supplied in the development of
Turkish literature. It is possible to see a result of Turkish-Armenian
relations that lasted in the presence of both languages for hundreds years. It
can be determined that the interaction is reflected in the languages at this
point as well owing to the words which are from Turkish language to Armenian
language and Armenian language to Turkish language.
Beginning of XIV. and XV. century, it has
been created the some works with Armenian alphabet as folklore, language,
literary, religious, history on this area. In 1727, Turkish books in written
Armenian alphabet began to printed in different cities and printing house of
the world. More than two thousand books printed in 1727-1968.
Turkish Proverbs, which is one of these
works and which is a source of our works was published in 1844 as the English
translation in S. Lazarus Armenian Monastery printery. After this work, in
which the Turkish proverbs with Armenian alphabet were included. The other
works about the Turkish proverbs with Armenian alphabet had been done. But this
book sourced the other books.
In this work, Turkish Proverbs will
translate texts as comparison with Armenian alphabet. It will be the source to
the next work and it will be pioneer. So that it will contribute to the
researcher who will make new works in this area.
