In this study , a steel structure is chosen. In order to get the solution of this system, two different solution methods are applied which are elastic design and plastic design methods. At the end this two solutions are compared in order to find out which one is economical. In designing the structure with elastic analysis the beam and the columns on both longitudinal and parallel direction were designed under vertical loads. In plastic analysis the beams on longitudinal and parallel direction were analyzed by step by step method. Shear force effect on the beams were considered in both methods and also vertical deformation. After the design of beams and columns earthquake analysis were considered. Normal force which affects the beams and columns were considered and necessary changes were made. Diagonals are designed as well using the earthquake forces. Bolts are used in order to join the elements for both solution methods and finally the effect of solution method on connection type is studied and also an economical comparison is presented for both solutions.
