The Refugee-Architecture Relationship in the Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities Literature: A Bibliometric Analysis

Yıl 2025, Cilt: 26 Sayı: 3, 1359 - 1378, 28.11.2025

Öz

This study aims to reveal the position, orientation, and impact of the relationship between refugees and architecture within the fields of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities by analyzing relevant literature. The research evaluates publications indexed in the Scopus database using the keyword "refugee." Based on the data obtained, the types of publications, their distribution over the years, and productivity by country and institution were examined. In addition, bibliographic network maps (co-authorship, co-occurrence of author keywords, citation analysis, and bibliographic coupling analysis) were generated using VOSviewer software to analyze the structure and relationships within the field. The findings indicate that themes such as temporary shelter solutions and humanitarian architecture are prominent, while issues like urban integration, social cohesion, and spatial justice are relatively underexplored.
