Parenting Representations of Google Doodle Designs for Mothers & Fathers Days

Öz

This study examines parenting representations within the dynamic structure of digital visual communication through Google Doodle designs. Mother’s and Father’s Day Doodles from 2000–2025 were sampled, and parental figures were evaluated via qualitative analysis. The analysis focused on thematic axes such as emotional support, biological roles, shared responsibilities, and traditional representations. Data were examined through both denotative and connotative layers of meaning. The study shows that digital media visuals are not merely aesthetic but also effective tools for producing meaning and constructing parenting roles. Digital representations convey parenting experiences through traditional patterns and modern, shared approaches, shaping social perceptions. By revealing how digital visual culture reconstructs parenting types via media content, the study offers a framework for communication studies literature.
