Güvenlik İklimi ve Güvenlik Performansı Arasındaki İlişkide Örgütsel Bağlılık ve Güvenlik Motivasyonunun Aracılık Rollerinin İncelenmesi: Elektrik Sektörü Çalışanları Üzerine Bir İnceleme

Öz

Bu çalışma, güvenlik iklimi, örgütsel bağlılık, güvenlik motivasyonu ve güvenlik performansı arasındaki ilişkileri incelemeyi ve örgütsel bağlılığın bu ilişkilerdeki aracılık rolünü değerlendirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Türkiye’de elektrik iletim ve dağıtım sektöründe görev yapan 455 çalışan oluşturmaktadır. Veriler yapısal eşitlik modellemesi (YEM) yöntemiyle analiz edilmiş; alt boyutlar arasındaki ilişkiler korelasyon ve yol analizleriyle test edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, güvenlik ikliminin hem güvenlik motivasyonu hem de güvenlik performansı üzerinde doğrudan ve dolaylı etkileri olduğu, ayrıca güvenlik motivasyonunun güvenlik performansı üzerindeki belirleyici rolü ortaya konmuştur. Örgütsel bağlılık ile güvenlik performansı arasında doğrudan bir ilişki bulunmazken, güvenlik motivasyonu aracılığıyla dolaylı bir etkisi tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışma, iş sağlığı ve güvenliği alanına sektörel düzeyde ampirik katkı sunarken, örgütsel faktörlerin güvenli davranışlar üzerindeki etkisine dair literatürdeki boşlukları da doldurmayı hedeflemektedir.

Examining The Mediating Roles of Organizational Commitment and Safety Motivation in The Relationship Between Safety Climate and Safety Performance: A Study on Electricity Sector Employees

Öz

This study aims to examine the relationships between safety climate, organizational commitment, safety motivation, and safety performance, and to assess whether organizational commitment plays a mediating role in these relationships. The research sample consists of 455 employees working in the electricity transmission and distribution sector in Türkiye. Data were analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM), and the relationships among sub-dimensions were tested through correlation and path analysis. Findings indicate that safety climate has both direct and indirect effects on safety motivation and safety performance, while safety motivation plays a key role in enhancing performance. Although no direct effect was found between organizational commitment and safety performance, an indirect relationship was identified through safety motivation. This study provides sector-specific empirical insights into the connection between occupational safety and organizational factors, contributing to the literature by addressing existing gaps in understanding how organizational variables influence safety behaviours in high-risk industries.
