Objective: Social With the digitalization brought by technology, music has become an integral part of our daily lives. Music, accessible at almost any moment and place throughout the day, has a significant impact on human behaviors and attitudes. Popular music content, which is more intensely listened to by young people and easily accessible to children, deserves to be examined in terms of addiction with its viewing numbers exceeding millions. In this context, identifying the most common songs and examining their contents from the perspective of addiction sociology is aimed.
Method: In this study, the top 10 song lists of the last decade have been examined in the context of addiction sociology. The songs were taken from the lists published by Spotify. The top 10 list of the last 10 years from 2014 to 2023, totaling 100 songs, was included in the sampling. Qualitative document analysis method was used in the research.
Results: According to the findings obtained, substance use, violence, profanity, and depression were identified as four main themes. It has been observed that these themes emerged after 2017. This date marks the period when rap music started to enter the charts. When analyzed by music genre, it was found that almost all negative expressions were concentrated in the rap music genre. It has been observed that addiction contents have been increasing since this year.
Conclusion: It is observed that addiction expressions in songs have increased rapidly over the years. These expressions are specifically concentrated in rap music. When the relevant literature is examined, an increase in this direction worldwide is determined. These findings are consistent with the relevant literature.

Yöntem: Bu çalışmada son on yılın top 10 şarkı listesi bağımlılık sosyolojisi bağlamında incelenmiştir.
