In this study it was aimed to research the effect of
the football technical training of 8 weeks on the 10-13 age group male
children’s some motor skills and football abilities. 30 male children with an
average age of 11,67±1,30
years who registered for Konya Seljuk
Municipality Sport Club’s summer football school participated in the research.
In order to detect physical properties of children, body weight and stature
measurements were made. Vertical jump, standing long jump and 20 meters running
tests were applied to find out motor abilities. In addition, anaerobic power
values were calculated. In order to find out the level of ability for football,
the Mor&Christian football skill test including the tests of dribbling,
pass and shot, the Yeagley football skill test including the keepie uppie test
and the Johnson football skill test including the quick pass to the wall test
were applied. Tests were applied as pre-tests before trainings did not start,
and the post-test measurements were taken by using the same methods at the end
of training which lasted for two months. The comparison of the averages
pertaining to the pre-test and post-test measurements in the study was made
with the application “Dependent Groups t- Test (Paired Samples Test).
Significant difference was found between pre-test and post-test measurement
averages of stature, vertical jump test, anaerobic power, the standing long
jump and 20 meters running tests (p<0,05). Significant difference was
found between the pre-test and post-test averages of the dribbling , pass,
shot, keepie uppie and quick pass to the wall tests, which were conducted to
measure the football basic technical ability. As a conclusion, post-test
measurements showed that two month-long regular football basic technical
training started after pre-test measurements of motor tests and football
technical ability tests developed motor and technical skills of children.
