This study addresses the necessity of establishing collaboration between the education and healthcare systems to meet children’s health and educational needs. Focusing particularly on the educational impacts of chronic illnesses, ADHD, sleep disorders, and cancer, the study emphasizes the significance of school-based consultation. Within the framework of the Biopsychoeducational Model, it is proposed that school counselors assume the role of "medical liaison" to facilitate effective collaboration with pediatricians and other healthcare professionals. In this context, it is argued that a multidisciplinary consultation process can contribute holistically to children’s academic, psychological, and social development. The study offers original and practical recommendations for practitioners, researchers, and policymakers regarding the integration of health and education systems, particularly within the context of Türkiye.
