Application of Swot Analysis in Determing Potential of Sustainable Tourism: Marmaris Example

The concept of sustainability in tourism in terms of tourism which is the source of natural, historical,
cultural and social values, the preservation of tourism attractiveness refers to the continuation of
developed. In this study, Muğla of Marmaris tourism in the district of “SWOT” (superiority, weakness,
opportunities, threats) was conducted to determine the status of. This analysis study and related
resources scanning method, focus group studies, and field research is based on theoretical. The scope
of work the district arranged field trips to Marmaris and theoretical studies are reviewed. The purpose
of this field trip the tourism potential of the region, and to create the infrastructure to supply necessary
information to see the status of examining. The survey method used in the study that operate in
the region with many theoretical the hotel manager, tourism employees, corporate officials and civil
face to face interviews with administrators were conducted. Also alternative types of tourism and
tourism in the county are handled partially to reveal the current situation were studied. Again, an
active role in this process existing in the area of tourism businesses (lodging establishments, resorts,
apartments, B & B, private facilities, etc.) cooperation within the framework of plans and policies
that will be created will focus on the determination of. ” SWOT” Analysis Strengths and weaknesses
of the town of Marmaris as a result of due diligence, the elements of opportunities and threats have
been identified.
