Performance Analysis of a Two Stroke Reverse-Uniflow Gasoline Engine
Öz
In this study, the cycle analysis of two stroke reverse-uniflow, carburettor, spark ignition engine was determined by using a theoretical mathematical model and the performance of the engine and the exhaust emissions were investigated by experiments. A thermodynamic model that includes real cycle calculations of the engine has been developed for theoretical cycle analysis and the diagrams that reveal the performance of the engine has been obtained by writing a computer program that was developed in MATLAB programming language. In the experimental stage of this study, firstly, the experiments were realized in order to determine the engine performance parameters at under full and low loads, between 1000 rpm and 2000 rpm engine revolution by changing it with 200 rpm interval. Then, the engine was started at 1800 rpm fixed speed with full and partial loads and the exhaust emission values were determined. The theoretical analysis results and empirical results of the engine performance parameters were compared to each other. Also, the empirical results have been compared with the performances of a classical two-stroke engine and a four-stroke engine
