Tip 2 Diyabetli Bireylerde Hastalığı Kabulün Kronik Hastalığa Uyum Düzeyi Üzerine Etkisi

Objective: In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of disease acceptance on the level of adjustment to chronic disease in individuals with type 2 diabetes. Methods: This study is descriptive and correlational and was conducted with 227 individuals with type 2 diabetes between May and September 2022. Data were collected with the descriptive ınformation form, Acceptance of Illness Scale and Adaptation to Chronic Illness Scale. The data were analysed using Mann–Whitney U, Kruskal–Wallis, independent groups t-test and One-way ANOVA, Spearman correlation test and Linear Regression tests. Results: In the study, the mean age of individuals with type 2 diabetes was 65.22 ± 9.94 years, 53.7% were 65 years and above, 65.6% were women, and 95.2% were married. The mean total scores of the Acceptance of Illness Scale and Adaptation to Chronic Illness Scale were 22.63±8.78 and 84.96±12.73, respectively. In the study, it was found that the level of acceptance of the disease in individuals with diabetes affects adaptation to chronic disease (rho=0.653, p<0.001). Conclusion: As the acceptance level of individuals with type 2 diabetes increases, their adaptation to the disease increases. In this regard, it is recommended to evaluate the level of acceptance and adaptation to chronic disease in type 2 diabetes patients and to conduct trainings to increase the acceptance of the disease.

Amaç: Bu çalışmada tip 2 diyabetli bireylerde hastalığı kabulün kronik hastalığa uyum düzeyi üzerine etkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Bu çalışma tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı niteliktedir. Araştırma Mayıs - Eylül 2022 tarihleri arasında tip 2 diyabetli 227 birey ile yürütülmüştür. Veriler tanıtıcı bilgi formu, Hastalığı Kabul Ölçeği ve Kronik Hastalıklara Uyum Ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Araştırma verileri Mann–Whitney U, Kruskal–Wallis, bağımsız gruplarda t testi ve One-way ANOVA, Spearman korelasyon testi ve Doğrusal Regresyon testleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular: Çalışmada tip 2 diyabetli bireylerin yaş ortalaması 65.22±9.94 olup, %53.7’sinin 65 yaş ve üzeri, %65.6’sının kadın, %95.2’sinin evli olduğu belirlenmiştir. Katılımcıların Hastalığı Kabul ölçeği ve Kronik Hastalığa Uyum Ölçeği puan ortalaması sırasıyla 22.63±8.78 ve 84.96±12.73 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Çalışmada diyabetli bireylerde hastalığı kabul düzeyinin kronik hastalığa uyumu etkilediği bildirilmektedir (rho=0,653, p<0,001). Sonuç: Tip 2 diyabeti olan bireylerde hastalığı kabul düzeyi attıkça hastalığa uyum da artmaktadır. Bu bakımdan tip 2 diyabetli bireylerde hastalığı kabul ve kronik hastalığa uyum düzeyinin değerlendirilmesi ve hastalığı kabulü arttırmaya yönelik eğitimlerin yapılması önerilmektedir.
