Objective: Postpartum fatigue is an important and common problem that can last for weeks after birth, affect the care of both the mother and her baby, and threaten the health of the mother and baby. In this study, it was aimed to determine the interventions used in the management of postpartum fatigue and to examine the effectiveness of these interventions.
Methods: In this systematic review; the full text can be accessed in PubMed, Google Scholar, Web of Science and EBSCOhost databases with the keywords 'fatigue’, ‘postpartum fatigue’, ‘postpartum fatigue and interventions or non-pharmacological interventions’ and ‘management or strategies of postpartum fatigue and randomized controlled trial’. 9 published randomized controlled trials were reviewed.
Results: As a result of the examination, education (n = 2), education and exercise (n = 1), exercise (n = 1), aromatherapy (n = 1), acupuncture (n = 1), consuming lavender tea (n = 2) in the management of postpartum fatigue. = 1), helping to sleep (n = 1) and skin-to-skin contact (n = 1) attempts were observed. In most of the studies reviewed, it was reported that postpartum fatigue levels of mothers were decreased.
Conclusion: There is limited information and practice regarding interventions for effective management of postpartum fatigue. In this respect, it is recommended to conduct high-level studies with a larger sample including interventions for postpartum fatigue, enrich these studies in terms of content, intervention and method, and develop new strategies that can reduce the effects of postpartum fatigue.
