Öz

Dünya çapında ve ülkemizde artmakta olan geriatrik hasta sayısı ile beraber geriatrik cerrahiye duyulan ilgi ve ihtiyaç da artmaktadır. Bu hastaların pek çoğu, cerrahiye neden olan hastalık dışında birçok kronik hastalığa da sahiptir. Hastalar rutin ameliyat öncesi, sırası ve sonrası bakımın yanısıra daha kapsamlı bir hemşirelik bakımına ihtiyaç duymaktadırlar. Ayrıca geriatrik cerrahi hastalarında komplikasyonların ve hastaneye tekrar yatışların en aza indirgenmesi ve mortalite oranlarının azalması için bakımda güncel bilgilerin takip edilmesi ve kullanılması gerekmektedir. Bu makalede, geriatrik cerrahi hastalarının ameliyat süreci boyunca hemşirelik bakımına ilişkin güncel bilgiler tartışılmıştır.

Current Approaches in the Surgery Process in Geriatric Surgery

Öz

While the increasing number of geriatric patients worldwide and in our country the interest and need for geriatric surgery is also increasing. Many of these patients also have many chronic diseases, except for the disease that causes surgery. Patients need a more comprehensive nursing care in addition to routine preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care. In addition, current information should be followed and used in care in order to minimize complications and re-hospitalizations and decrease mortality rates for geriatric surgery patients. In this article, current information in nursing care of geriatric surgery patients during the operation process was discussed.
