Biyolojik Afetler ve COVID-19

Öz

Biyolojik afetler; doğal olarak oluşan salgınlarla, öldürücü bir mikroorganizmanın kazara salınması ya da kasıtlı olarak kullanılmasıyla ve böcek istilasıyla oluşmaktadır. Tarihsel süreçte birçok biyolojik hastalık etkeni salgın oluşturarak ya da biyolojik silah ajanı olarak kullanılıp milyonlarca insanın ölmesine neden olmuştur. Günümüzde ise küresel boyutta bir salgın oluşturarak biyolojik afete neden olan biyolojik hastalık etkini yeni tip koronavirüs-19’dur. 2019 yılının son günlerinde Çin’in Wuhan kentinde ortaya çıkmıştır. 2020 yılı içerisinde tüm dünyayı etkisi altına alarak milyonlarca insanı etkilenmesine, yüz binlerce kişinin hayatını kaybetmesine ve küresel anlamda ekonomik ve psiko-sosyal sorunlara neden olmuştur.
