Transformation of Location in Artists’ Works Through Technological Developments as a Concept in Art Education
Abstract
Art education is a
comprehensive education that must be present in every phase of educational
programs starting from pre-school education. Affiliated with other disciplines, art education
is an important discipline producing new formations by accommodating science
and technology within the contemporary science concept, as in any other field.
The concept of location within the educational process reminds the feature of
physical environment by the individual’s perception, thus leads to questioning
the relationship between the inner world and the outer world.
The
research focuses on the transformation of location in artists’ work with the
innovation triggered by electronical technologies such as industrial and
technical advancements, Pop Art, Op Art and Kinetic Art, Performance Art,
Installation, Video Art, Digital Technology and Internet since the milestone of
the invention of photography through technological advancements. The data
gathered in this research is significant for attaining the concept of location
in art education and allowing individuals to benefit from technological
advancements, critical thinking, interpreting and application.
