THE EVOLUTION OF THE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS IN THE FRESCO OF “THE FIRE IN THE BORGO” BY RAFFAELLO SANTI

Öz

Raffaello Santi (Raphael), who lived in the years of 1483 – 1520, was an artist. Besides being a painter, he was also an architect and a sculptor. Moreover the artist was interested in also archaeological finds and historical monuments. Raphael, who intensively includes architectural elements in his studies revealed magnificent works. These works, which contains architectural elements was applied successfully different architectural places and one of the beautiful works of him was the fresco of “The Fire in the Borgo”. He used all his knowledge skillfully in this fresco. Although, he included single or double architectural elements in his other works, he used the architectural settings of doric, ionic and composite orders and the different masonry techniques harmoniously in the fresco of “The Fire in the Borgo” and it seems that he was quite successful. Raphael, who was able to apply all sorts of paintings to all kind of places, was created magnificent visuality and the stunning expression of the self-created intelligence at this work. At this article, studies of Raffaello and the architectural elements in the fresco of “The Fire in the Borgo” will be mentioned.

RAFFAELLO SANTI’NIN “THE FIRE IN THE BORGO” ADLI FRESKİNDEBETİMLENEN MİMARİ UNSURLAR ÜZERİNE BİR DEĞERLENDİRME

Öz

Raffaello Santi (Raphael), 1483-1520 yıllarında yaşamış bir sanatçıdır. Ressam olmasının yanı sıra aynı zamanda mimar ve heykeltıraştır. Ayrıca sanatçı arkeolojik buluntular ve tarihi anıtlara da duyan birisidir. Çalışmalarında yoğun bir şekilde mimari unsurlara yer veren Raphael muhteşem eserler ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bu eserlerini farklı mimari mekanlara uygulama konusunda da oldukça başarılı olan sanatçının en güzel çalışmalarından birisi “Borgo’da Yangın” adlı freskidir. Bu freskte ressam, sahip olduğu tüm birikimleri ustaca kullanmıştır. Diğer eserlerinde tekli ya da ikili mimari düzenlemelere yer vermesine rağmen, “Borgo’da Yangın” adlı eserinde dor, ion ve kompozit düzene ait mimari düzenlemeler ile farklı duvar örgü tekniklerinin hepsini birlikte uyumlu bir şekilde kullandığı ve bunda da oldukça başarılı olduğu görülmektedir. Her türlü resmi her türlü mekâna uygulayan ressamın bu çalışmasında, mükemmel bir görsellik ve kendini iyi ifade eden zekanın çarpıcı yönü ön plana çıkmaktadır. Bu makalede Raphael’in çalışmaları ve “Borgo’da Yangın” adlı freskindeki mimari unsurlar ile ilgili değerlendirmeler yer almaktadır
