“FRANSIZ-BELÇİKA” ÇİZGİ ROMAN ÜSLUBUNUN, TARİHSEL AÇIDAN GELİŞİMİ VE GÖRSEL YAPISININ İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Çizgi Roman yapımında karakter tasarımı, panellerin şekli, renk uygulamaları, süsleme gibi temel özellikler bazen kültürler arası değişiklikler göstermektedir. Şöyle ki, bir toplumun geçmişten bu yana geliştirmekte olduğu görsel kültür ve sanatsal birikim farklı alanlarda yapılan işlere yansımaktadır. Bir çizgi romanın görsel açıdan temel özelliklerini çizgi romanı üreten çizer belirlese de, çizerin yaşadığı kültür onun üslubunun gelişmesinde etkili olmaktadır. Dünya’nın birçok yerinde çizgi romanlar üretilmektedir. Çizgi roman konusunda da farklı tasarım anlayışları ve üsluplar coğrafi açıdan bölgeden bölgeye değişiklikler gösterebilir. Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’ndeki “comic”ler ya da Japon “manga”larının yanında Fransızca konuşan ülkelerin üretmiş olduğu çizgi roman şekli (bandes dessinées) günümüzde önemli ekollerden birisidir. Aslında Fransız-Belçika çizgi roman üslubunun matbaa öncesi zamanlara kadar köklü bir tarihsel gelişim süreci vardır. Makalede bu süreç temel hatlarıyla ortaya konulmuş, Fransız-Belçika çizgi romanlarının grafik tasarım kapsamında üslubu incelenmiş ve günümüz popüler kültüründeki yeri hakkında bilgiler aktarılmıştır.

HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT AND VISUAL STRUCTURE OF “FRENCH-BELGIAN” COMICS STYLE

Öz

Basic features such as character design, shape of panels, color applications, ornamentation in comic book production sometimes show cross-cultural differences. The visual culture and artistic accumulation that a society has been developing since the past is reflected in the works done in different fields. Although the artist who produces the comic determines the visual basic features of a comic, the culture of the cartoonist is effective in the development of his style. Comics are produced in many parts of the world. Different design approaches and styles in comics may vary from region to region in terms of geography. In addition to the "comics" in the United States or the Japanese "manga", the comic book form (bandes dessinées) produced by French speaking countries is one of the important schools today. In fact, the Franco-Belgian comic style has a deep-rooted historical development process back to pre-printing times. In the article, this process is outlined, the style of French-Belgian comics is examined within the scope of graphic design, and information is given about its place in today's popular culture.
