Relationship Between Parents and Preschool Children

Abstract

Parents play a key role in the emotional development of child especially in preschool age. There are many related factors in the relationship of child and parent. It is important to understand children's subjective experiences with their parents. Temperamental characteristics of the mother have an important role to play in the quality of this relationship. Most parents desire to have deep, intimate relationships between their children. Also, children need emo-tional closeness, safety and security. Attachment is the strong emotional bond that develops between child and primary caregiver. The secure attachment style increases the emotional development of child positively and it may serve as a protective factor for psychological well-being. Children's well-being often depends on how children perceive or interpret their parents' behaviors. Poor parenting practices represent some of the most risk factors for psychological problems in childhood. There are many research results show that correlation between the parental negative attitudes and the psychopathology of the chil-dren. The present study aimed to review the relationship between parent and preschool children.

Anne-Baba ile Okul Öncesi Çocuk Arasındaki İlişki

Öz

Özellikle okul öncesi dönemde çocuğun duygusal gelişimi için ebeveynin çok önemli bir rol oynadığı bildirilmektedir. Çocuk ve ebeveyn ilişkisinde birçok ilişkili faktör vardır. Çocukların ebeveynleri ile öznel deneyimlerini anlamak oldukça önemlidir. Annenin kişilik özelliklerinin bu ilişkinin kalitesinde önemli bir rol oynadığı düşünülmektedir. Birçok ebeveyn çocuklarıyla yakın ve içten bir ilişki kurmayı arzu eder. Aynı zamanda, çocukların da duygusal yakınlığa, emniyete ve güvenliğe ihtiyacı vardır. Bağlanma, çocuk ile temel bakım veren arasında gelişen güçlü bir duygusal bağdır. Güvenli bağlanma çocuğun duygusal gelişimini olumlu yönde etkilemekte ve psikolojik sağlık açısından koruyucu bir etken oluşturmaktadır. Çocuğun psikolojik sağlığı sıklıkla ebeveynlerinin davranışlarını nasıl anladığı ve yorumladığına bağlıdır. Yetersiz ebeveynlik durumu çocukta görülen psikolojik problemler için önemli bir risk faktörüdür. Olumsuz ebeveyn tutumları ile çocuklarda görülen psikopatolojler arasında ilişki olduğunu gösteren birçok araştırma bulgusu vardır. Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, anne-baba ile okul öncesi çocuk arasın-daki ilişkiyi gözden geçirmektir.
