Logotherapy and Religion

Öz

Logotherapy is a therapeutic approach which aims to
resolve some psychological disorders and existential emptiness. Logotherapy is
basically based on search for meaning. Logotherapy, which was developed by
Viktor Frankl in the Second World War and subsequent years rests on humanistic
approach. The aim of this study is to explore the historical development,
strengths and weaknesses of logotherapy besides defining some basic concepts in
logotherapy. Moreover, with this study it is aimed to bring up the relationship
between logotherapy and religion. The current study is a review study which is
based on literature review. In the end of the study, the researcher defined how
logotherapy was addressed by various researchers in the course of history. This
study is expected to contribute to the raise in the awareness about logotherapy
in Turkey.

Öz

Logoterapi, bazı psikolojik rahatsızlıkların ve
varoluşsal boşluğun çözülmesini hedefleyen ve anlam arayışına dayanan terapötik
bir yaklaşımdır. Viktor Frankl tarafından İkinci Dünya Savaşı ve takip eden
yıllarda ortaya konulan logoterapi; hümanistik bir yaklaşımı içine almaktadır.
Bu çalışmanın temel amacı Viktor Frankl tarafından geliştirilen logoterapinin;
tarihsel gelişimini, güçlü ve zayıf yönlerini, logoterapideki bazı temel
kavramları ortaya koymaktır. Buna ek olarak, mevcut çalışma ile logoterapinin
dinle olan bağlantısının ve ilişkisinin ortaya konulması amaçlanmaktadır.
Mevcut çalışma, bir derleme çalışması olup literatür taramasına dayalı olarak
yürütülmüştür. Çalışma sonucunda, logoterapinin tarihsel gelişim içinde farklı
araştırmacılar tarafından nasıl ele alındığı ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışmanın
Türkiye’de logoterapi ile ilgili farkındalığın artırılmasına katkı sağlayacağı
düşünülmektedir.
