Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Avşar Campus area is located on the west side of the city of Kahramanmaraş, within the Mediterranean phytogeographical region and on the C6 square in Davis’s grid system. With this study, plant samples were collected and identified from Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Campus area, and their effects on human health were evaluated. This research was carried out between the years 2017 and 2019 and during vegetation periods. In this study, approximately 400 plant specimens were collected from the area. 62 families at the species and subspecies level and 219 plant taxa of 176 genera were identified. Asteraceae has the highest number of plant taxa (26), which is followed by Fabaceae (21), Poaceae (11), Ranunculaceae (10), Brassicaceae, Lamiaceae, and Rosaceae (9). 149 (68%) natural and 70 (32%) taxa cultivated plants were determined. In the area, poison (20%), allergen (16%), and medicinal plants (15%) plant taxa were identified. Currently, the natural flora is damaged by the construction of new buildings, landscape, and gardening applications. The aim of the study is to contribute to floristic and public health studies.
