Marcel Proust’un uyarlanan eserinin yazın, göstergebilim ve çeviribilim ekseninde eleştirel izinde: “Kayıp Zamanın İzinde”

Öz

Marcel Proust’un yedi ciltten oluşan ve genellikle Arayış olarak nitelendirilen Kayıp Zamanın İzinde adlı eserinin kıyaslanamaz olduğu aşikârdır. Eser, günümüze değin çok sayıda araştırmacı tarafından incelenmiştir. Fakat sinema ve televizyon uyarlamaları inceleme nesnesi olarak nadiren tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sınırlılıkları kapsamında 2011'de yayımlanan ve 230 dakikalık Kayıp Zamanın İzinde adlı televizyon filmi, eserde yer alan yedi cildi de kapsadığı için tercih edilmiş ve incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Amaç, televizyona uyarlanan eseri yazın, göstergebilim ve çeviribilim ekseninde titizlikle değerlendirmek, eleştirel ve bütüncül bir yaklaşım sunmaktır. İlk aşamada filmde yer alan karakterler, sözsüz iletişim sorunsalı, Proust’un zaman, aşk, kıskançlık, müzik, felsefe, ölüm, yazı ve beş duyuyu kapsayan temalarla ilişkisi üzerine bir edebi eleştiri sunma gayreti gösterilmiştir. Bir diğer aşamada disiplinlerarası bir alan olan çeviri göstergebilimi ele alınarak örneklendirilmiştir. Son aşamada ise televizyon uyarlamasının YouTube otomatik altyazı programıyla oluşturulan altyazı içerikleri çeviribilimsel açıdan irdelenmiştir. Bu noktada amaç, otomatik çevirinin neden olduğu belirsizlikleri, anlam bulanıklığını tüm açıklığıyla gözler önüne sermek ve otomatik çevirinin insan çevirisiyle kıyaslanamayacağı gerçeği üzerinde durmaktır. Bu araştırmanın yazın, göstergebilim ve çeviribilim ekseninde sürdürülmesiyle disiplinlerarasılığın önemini vurgulaması ve ilgili alanda yürütülecek diğer araştırmalara katkı sağlaması beklenmektedir.

À la recherche d’une critique littéraire, sémiotique et traductologique de l’adaptation de Marcel Proust: «À la recherche du temps perdu »

Öz

Il est évident que l’œuvre qui s’intitule À la recherche du temps perdu, nommé souvent La recherche, composé de sept tomes, est une œuvre inclassable et incomparable. Le livre est bel et bien analysé jusqu’à présent par plusieurs scientifiques et chercheurs. Pourtant ses adaptations cinématographiques et télévisuelles sont rarement étudiées. Dans les limites de l'étude, on a dû choisir l’une de ses adaptations. C’est « À la recherche du temps perdu », sorti en 2011, qui dure 230 minutes. La raison pour laquelle on a choisi ce téléfilm est qu’il traite tous les sept volumes du livre. L’objectif est de présenter l’adaptation télévisuelle avec toutes ses astuces et d’invoquer une critique littéraire, sémiotique et surtout traductologique en examinant des sous-titres automatiques du téléfilm sur YouTube. L’article est divisé et analysé en trois parties. La première partie implique la critique littéraire sur le téléfilm, les personnages principaux et historiques, la problématique de la communication non-verbale. On aborde les thèmes centraux du film : Proust et le temps, l’amour, la jalousie, la musique, la philosophie, la mort, l’écriture et les cinq sens. La deuxième partie sera présentée et illustrée la sémiotique de la traduction qui est un domaine de recherche interdisciplinaire. Ainsi la traduction est un enjeu central en sémiotique. La troisième partie implique les sous-titres automatiques du téléfilm « À la recherche du temps perdu ». Le but est de montrer franchement l’ambiguïté causée par la traduction automatique et d’insister sur la notion que la traduction automatique n’est pas équivalente à la traduction humaine. La conduite de cette étude sur l'axe littéraire, sémiotique et traductologique révèle l'importance de l'interdisciplinarité et devrait contribuer aux études à mener dans le domaine.

In search of a literary, semiotic and translatological criticism of the adaptation of Marcel Proust: “In Search of Lost Time”

Abstract

It is obvious that the work entitled In Search of Lost Time, often called The Search, composed of seven volumes, is incomparable. The book has indeed been analyzed so far by several scientists and researchers. Yet his film and television adaptations are rarely studied. Within the limits of the study, we had to choose one of his adaptations. It's In Search of Lost Time, released in 2011, which lasts 230 minutes. The reason we chose this TV movie is because it covers all seven parts of the book. The objective is to present its television adaptation with all its tricks and to invoke a literary, semiotic and above all translatological criticism by examining the automatic subtitles of the TV movie on YouTube. The first part involves literary criticism on the TV movie, the main and historical characters and the issue of non-verbal communication. We approach the central themes of the film: Proust and time, love, jealousy, music, philosophy, death, writing and the five senses such as taste, smell, hearing, view. The second part will be presented and illustrated the semiotics of translation which is an area of interdisciplinary research. Translation is therefore a central issue in semiotics. The third part involves the automatic subtitles of the TV movie “In Search of Lost Time”. The aim is to frankly show the ambiguity caused by machine translation and to emphasize the notion that machine translation is not equivalent to human translation. The conduct of this study on the literature, semiotics and translation studies axis reveals the importance of interdisciplinarity and should contribute to the research to be carried out in the field.
