Annie Ernaux’nun, kendi kişisel tarihi ile 2. Dünya Savaşı
sonrası Fransa toplumsal tarihini harmanladığı Les Années adlı eseri kadın ve sınıf çalışmalarından beslenen
hibrid yapısıyla dikkat çeker. Les Années
otobiyografik bir çalışma olmanın yanı sıra metinlerarasılığı ile özgünlüğünü
ortaya koyar. Bu özgünlük, anlatıcının, kişisel tarihini ele alırken kullandığı
dişil üçüncü tekil şahıs, toplumsal tarihi anlatırken ise kullandığı nötr
üçüncü tekil ve birinci çoğul şahıs tercihi ile pekişir. Zaman ve bellek
üzerine kurulu bu anlatıda bireysel ile toplumsalın iç içeliği, retrospektifin
reddi ve anlatıdaki kadının «sıradanlığı» ve toplumsal aidiyeti, metni Philippe
Lejeune’ün klasikleşmiş otobiyografi tanımının dışında tutar. Anlatıcının
«romanesk otobiyografi» olarak adlandırdığı bu anlatıyı kurarken en büyük
destekçisi imgelerdir. Metinde imgeler çeşitlilik arz eder: görsel imgeler,
bellek imgeleri, hayalet imgeler ve olay akışının kurulmasında kullanılan
imgeler. Tüm bu imgeler anlatıcının kurgusal anlatıyı reddine, gerçekçilik
temasını pekiştirmesine ve özgün bir otobiyografik anlatı inşa etmesine olanak
tanır.

Annie Ernaux’s Les Annees: New Horizons In Autobiographical Narrative

Öz

Annie Ernaux’s work entitled Les Années where she harvests her personal history and Frech social
history attracts attention with its hybrid structure which is nourished with
women and class studies. Apart from being an autobiographical work, it reveals
its specificity for its intertextuality. This specificity is consolidated by
the third person singular feminine pronoun when she describes her personal
history and, by the third person singular neutral pronoun and the first person
plural while she narrates social history. In this narrative based on time and
memory, the intertwining of the individual and the social, the refusal of the
retrospective and the ordinariness of the woman in the narrative exclude this
text from Philippe Lejeune’s classical conception of autobiography. While constructing this narrative that
Ernaux calls “autobiographie romanesque”,
the biggest supporters of the narrater are the images. They are various in the
text:  visual images, memorial images,
phantom images and the images used to construct the flow of the events. All of
these images allow the narrater to refuse the fictional narrative, to intensify
the realism theme and to contruct a specific autobiographical narrative.
