Abstract
Introduction and Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the stress levels of working fathers with children aged 36-72 months and father-child relationship.
Materials and Methods: The study was conducted using the correlational survey model, which is one of the quantitative research methods. The sample group of the study consisted of a total of 220 fathers actively working and residing in the city of Istanbul. The data collection instruments used included a demographic information form, Parental Stress Scale-PSI, Job Stress Scale-20, and Child Parent Relationship Scale- Father Form. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the data for the study were collected online. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 22 software package. Skewness and kurtosis values were examined, and parametric tests were employed.
Findings and Conclusion: The research findings revealed that fathers with low levels of both work and domestic stress had more positive father-child relationships. Moreover, it was found that the father's age, marital status, income level, and the child's enrollment in preschool education influenced the father-child relationship.
