and coping methods seen in the menstruation cycle of normal weight and obese women. Methods: The study was conducted on 50 fat and 50 normal weight women between the ages of 15-49 in a private hospital in Istanbul province. The data were obtained by the questionnaire prepared by the researchers, body analyses of individuals were performed and research findings were evaluated in computer environment. Results: Fat women’s lean body mass before and after menstruation, respectively; 49.2±6.06 and 51.2±6.08 kg, while normal weight women had 43.2±3.5 and 42.8±3.5 kg and both groups (63%) had menarş before the age of 15. The most common symptom in both groups was breast sensitivity (69%) and increased edema (68%), followed by a change in eating patterns (58%), and one in two people experienced headaches, irritability, abdominal swelling and fatigue. It was observed that women in the whole group used similar rates (83%, 80%) hot water and painkillers in the first place as a treatment method, while they preferred to exercise at the lowest rate (24%) (p.05). The highest rate of appetite status (73%) of the cases was affected by menstruation, followed by happiness (45%) and stress (44%), respectively, and the factors that reduced it were sadness (60%), stress (53%) and excitement (p.0.01, p.05). Conclusion: The majority of all the women who participated in our study had a change in their appetite during the menstrual cycle and had many physiological and psychological symptoms.
