Motivasyonel Görüşme ile Desteklenen Sağlık Eğitiminin Evde Takip Edilen COVID-19 Tanılı Hastaların İlaç Tedavisi Uyumuna Etkisi

Öz

Giriş: Bu çalışmanın amacı, motivasyonel görüşme ile desteklenen sağlık eğitiminin evde takip edilen COVID-19 tanılı hastaların ilaç tedavisi uyumuna etkisinin belirlenmesidir. Materials and Methods: Bu çalışma Haziran 2021- Ocak 2022 tarihleri arasında Gelibolu’da yürütüldü. Çalışmaya dahil edilme kriterlerini karşılayan katılımcılar blok randomizasyon yöntemi ile müdahale (50) ve kontrol (50) grubuna ayrıldı. Çalışmanın başlangıcında veriler; araştırmacılar tarafından literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanan, katılımcıların sosyodemografik özellikleri, COVID-19 hastalığı ve tedavisine yönelik soruların yer aldığı “Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu” ve “İlaç Uyumu Bildirimi Ölçeği” ile elde edildi. Çalışmanın sonunda katılımcılara, “İlaç Uyumu Bildirim Ölçeği” ve “İlaç Tedavisinden Memnuniyet Düzeyi” anketi uygulandı. Elde edilen veriler; SPSS 22.00 programıyla yüzde, frekans, ortalama, Mann Whitney U, Wilcoxon testi istatistiksel analizleriyle değerlendirildi. Results and Conclusion: Çalışma sonunda, müdahale grubundaki katılımcıların “İlaç Uyumu Bildirim Ölçeği” puan ortalamasının (16,12±5,37), kontrol grubundaki katılımcıların puan ortalamasından (9.96±5.62) daha yüksek olduğu bulundu (p<0,05). Çalışma sonunda; müdahale grubunun ölçekten aldığı puan ortalamasının, standart ilaç tedavisi alan kontrol grubuna kıyasla önemli oranda arttığı ancak; ortalamanın kesme noktasının altında kaldığı ve ilaç uyumunun halen düşük düzeyde olduğu değerlendirilmiştir. Bu durum hemşireler tarafından verilen motivasyonel görüşme temelli sağlık eğitiminin ilaç uyumunu arttırmada önemli bir bileşen olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.

Effect of Health Education Supported with Motivational Interviewing on Medication Adherence of COVID-19 Patients Receiving Home Care

Öz

Objective: The objective of this study is to determine the effect of health education supported with motivational interviewing on medication adherence of COVID-19 patients receiving home care. Materials and Methods: This study was carried out in Gelibolu in Turkey between the dates of June 2021 - January 2022. Participants who meet the inclusion criteria of the study were assigned to the intervention group (50) and control group (50) using the block randomization method. Data at the beginning of the study were collected with the "Sociodemographic Questionnaire Form" and "Medication Adherence Reporting Scale" which were developed by the researchers according to the literature. At the end of the study the participants completed the "Medication Adherence Reporting Scale" and the questionnaire for "Medication Treatment Satisfaction Level". Data obtained were evaluated with the statistical analysis of percentage, frequency, mean, Mann Whitney U, Wilcoxon test using SPSS 22.00 program. Results and Conclusion: At the end of the study, the mean "Medication Adherence Reporting Scale" score of the participants in the intervention group (16.12±5.37) was higher than the mean score of the participants in the control group (9.96±5.62) (p<0,05). At the end of the study, the mean score of the intervention group in the scale increased significantly compared to the control group who received standard medication treatment however the mean score remained below the cutting point and the medication adherence was still low. This has demonstrated that health education supported by motivational interviewing provided by nurses is an important component to improve medication adherence.
