The effect of managerial innovation on staff empowerment the case of private hospitals in Thrace Region

Öz

Abstract
Objective: This study examines the effects of management innovation practices in hospitals on the psychological empowerment of administrative personnel. Management innovation refers to innovative approaches aimed at improving operational processes in healthcare institutions and is of critical importance for the motivation and productivity of administrative staff. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between these two concepts and provide data to enhance the effectiveness of management innovation in the healthcare sector.
Materials and Methods: The study population consists of 2,196 administrative staff working in 16 private hospitals located in Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ. Using a convenience sampling method, data were collected from 476 administrative personnel through the Management Innovation and Psychological Empowerment Scales between March and August 2024. To analyze the relationship between management innovation and psychological empowerment, correlation and regression analyses were conducted. The results were supported with descriptive statistics and a 95% confidence interval.
Findings and conclusion: The study found a positive but low-level significant relationship between management innovation and psychological empowerment. Significant effects were observed particularly in the autonomy and impact dimensions, while no effect was found on competence. Although the sub-dimensions of management innovation had positive effects, they were not statistically significant. The results suggest that administrative personnel experience management innovation indirectly, limiting its impact. It is recommended that participatory and inclusive practices be implemented to enhance psychological empowerment through management innovation in healthcare institutions.

Yönetim inovasyonun personel güçlendirmeye etkisi Trakya Bölgesi özel hastaneler örneği

Öz
Giriş ve Amaç: Bu çalışma, hastanelerde uygulanan yönetim inovasyonlarının, idari personelin psikolojik güçlendirilmesi üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektedir. Yönetim inovasyonu, sağlık kurumlarındaki iş süreçlerinin geliştirilmesine yönelik yenilikçi yaklaşımları içermekte olup, idari personelin motivasyonu ve verimliliği açısından kritik bir öneme sahiptir. Çalışmanın amacı, bu iki kavram arasındaki ilişkiyi anlamak ve sağlık sektöründe yönetim inovasyonunu daha etkin hale getirmek için gerekli verileri sağlamaktır.
Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmanın evrenini, Edirne, Kırklareli ve Tekirdağ illerinde faaliyet gösteren 16 özel hastanede görev yapan 2196 idari personel oluşturmaktadır. Kolayda örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen 476 idari personele Yönetim İnovasyon ve Psikolojik Güçlendirme ölçekleri Mart-Ağustos 2024 tarihlerinde uygulanmış, elde edilen veriler yönetim inovasyonu ile psikolojik güçlendirme arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla kullanılmıştır. İstatistiksel analizler için korelasyon ve regresyon analizleri yapılmış; tanımlayıcı istatistikler ve %95 güven aralığı ile sonuçlar desteklenmiştir.
Bulgular ve Sonuç: Araştırmada yönetim inovasyonu ile psikolojik güçlendirme arasında pozitif ancak düşük düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Özellikle özerklik ve etki boyutlarında anlamlı etkiler görülürken, yeterlilik üzerinde etkisi bulunmamıştır. Yönetim inovasyonunun alt boyutları genel olarak pozitif ancak istatistiksel olarak anlamlı etkiler göstermemiştir. Sonuçlar, idari personelin yönetim inovasyonunu dolaylı deneyimlemesinin etkileri sınırladığını göstermekte; çalışan katılımını artıran uygulamaların psikolojik güçlendirmeyi destekleyeceği önerilmektedir.
