Safe Surgery ChecklistTR: Application Situation of the Phase Before the Leaving the Clinic

Objectives: This study was conducted to evaluate the use of the Safe Surgery ChecklistTR the Phase Before Leaving the Clinic, of nurses working in secondary public hospitals.
Methods: The study was conducted as a descriptive study in six state hospitals in two provinces and districts. The sample of the study consisted of 221 nurses working in surgical clinics who accepted the study by paying attention to the principle of volunteering. Personal information form and the Safe Surgery ChecklistTR: Before the leaving the clinic was used as data collection tool.
Results: It was determined that 62% of the nurses were between the ages of 20-29, 59% were undergraduate, and 77% received in-service training on the safe surgical checklist. It was determined that 98% of the patients had their identity information checked, the consent of the patients was obtained and their fasting status was checked before the operation. It was determined that 49.3% of the patients’ operation areas were not prepared, and 45.7% of their operation areas were not marked.

Conclusion: It was determined that clinical nurses adapted to the pre-operative verification process for the identification of the patient, obtaining consent and determining the hunger status, but the preparation of special materials, implants, blood or blood products required for the surgery, and in almost half of the patients the side that should be marked by the physicians were not performed.

Güvenli Cerrahi Kontrol ListesiTR :Klinikten Ayrılmadan Önceki Evrenin Uygulanma Durumu

Öz

Amaç: Bu araştırma ikinci basamak kamu hastanelerinde görev yapan hemşirelerin “Güvenli Cerrahi Kontrol ListesiTR Klinikten Ayrılmadan Önceki Evre”nin kullanımını değerlendirmek amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Araştırma tanımlayıcı bir araştırma olarak iki il ve ilçeleri olmak üzere toplamda altı devlet hastanesinde gerçekleştirildi. Araştırmanın örneklemini cerrahi kliniklerde çalışan ve gönüllü olma esasına dikkat edilerek araştırmayı kabul eden 221 hemşire oluşturdu. Veri toplama aracı olarak kişisel bilgi formu ve Güvenli Cerrahi Kontrol ListesiTR’ndeki Klinikten Ayrılmadan Önceki Evre kullanıldı. Bulgular: Hemşirelerin %62’sinin 20-29 yaş aralığında olduğu, %59’unun lisans mezunu olduğu, %77’sinin ise güveli cerrahi kontrol listesi ile ilgili hizmet içi eğitim aldığı belirlenmiştir. Hastaların %98’inde kimlik bilgilerinin kontrol edildiği, hastaların rızalarının alındığı ve ameliyat öncesi açlık durumlarının kontrol edildiği belirlenmiştir. Hastaların %49.3’ünde ameliyat bölgesinin hazırlığının yapılmadığı, %45.7’sinde ameliyat bölgesinin işaretlenmediği belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Ameliyat öncesi doğrulama sürecine klinik hemşirelerin hastanın kimlik doğrulanması, onam alınması ve açlık durumlarının belirlenmesine uyum sağladığı, ancak ameliyat için gerekli olacak özel malzeme, implant, kan veya kan ürünleri hazırlığının kontrollerinin yapılmadığı, neredeyse hastaların yarısında hekimler tarafından yapılması gereken taraf işaretlenmesinin de yapılmadığı belirlenmiştir.
