Öz

Hadith scholars, as members of their communities, contemplated their personal and socialproblems and tried to find out convenient and efficient solutions. Their solutionsregarding these problems should be searched in their hadiths collections. They aimed tosolve social problems and unbalanced social conditions and to progress moral values viaeducation of hadith and sunnah. Therefore, they inscribed many books aiming thesegoals. This kind of approach and sensitivity can be observed in Nawawî's very famousbook, namely Riyad al-Salihin. This article is going to present Nawawî's social, culturaland intellectual context. Therefore this study is going to clarify the background of hisbook. Then, the importance of Riyad al-Salihin's systematic writing will be introducedfrom the perspective of personal and social education
