The Syrian Poet Badawî al-Jabal and His Poem Named as “Age Fifty”

In this paper, the life of the famous poet Badawi al-Jabal who is considered one ofimportant figure in political and literary area of Syria and his poem named as “Age Fifty” isput forward. This article is consisted of two chapters. In the first chapter, the life of thepoet and his effects which he exposed in the political and literary area of his country areexamined. In the second chapter, the translation of his poem named as “Age Fifty” whichis translated to Turkish by me is given with its Arabic text in footnotes. Thereafter thepoem is analyzed from the view point of its form and its content. The article is finishedwith a short assessment.
