THE EVALUATION OF THE NARRATİVES RELATED TO MID-PRAYER (EVVÂBÎN) IN TERMS OF CHAIN OF TRANSMITTERS AND TEXT

Abstract

We find that the nâfile prayer performed between evening and night prayer is called as the prayer of evvâbîn. On the other hand, there are also some narratives that the prayer performed mid-morning is called the prayer of evvâbîn. It is a known issue that the Prophet of Allah and his Companions prayed between the evening and night prayers. Yet, the essence of the prayer performed at this time is controversial. In other words, “Is the prayer in question evvâbîn prayer?”, or “Apart from the evvâbîn prayer, is there a different nâfile prayer?” Although there is no dispute about the two rakats of certain prayer performed after the evening prayer, we can see that there are debates about performing nâfile player, the number of rakats and naming of prayer apart from this prayer. However, is the prayer called as evvâbîn prayer actually performed between the evening prayer and the night prayer? Or is it the other name of the mid-morning prayer performed mid-morning? In this study, in order to find the answers to these questions, narratives were investigated about the time when the Prophet of Allah and the Companions performed this prayer and whether He recommended it. In our research, we could not reach any authenticated and original narratives, attributed to Prophet (pbuh) that the prayer of evvâbîn should be performed between evening and night prayers. It was established that the majority of the narratives were inauthentic hadiths narrated from the companions that the prayer performed at this time is the evvâbîn prayer. In addition, this claim is their own opinion and mostly was reputed to interpret the verses of the Qur’an. The narratives about the fact that evvâbîn prayer is mid-prayer are both more authenticated and original hadiths that is to say they are attribute to the Prophet of Allah. In our opinion, the prayer of the evvâbîn is the same prayer with mid-prayer performed in the mid-morning and it is the other name of this prayer.

EVVÂBÎN NAMAZI İLE İLGİLİ RİVAYETLERİN İSNAD VE METİN AÇISINDAN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Öz

Akşam ile yatsı namazı arasında kılınan nâfile namazın, evvâbîn namazı olarak isimlendirildiğini görmekteyiz. Bununla birlikte kuşluk vaktinde kılınan namaza da evvâbîn namazı dendiğine dair rivayetler bulunmaktadır. Resûlullah’ın (s.a.v.) ve sahabenin akşam ile yatsı namazları arasında namaz kıldıkları bilinen bir husustur. Fakat bu vakitte kılınan namazın mahiyeti tartışma konusudur. Yani söz konusu namaz evvâbîn namazı mıdır? Yoksa evvâbîn namazının dışında başka bir nâfile namaz mıdır? Akşam namazından sonra kılınan iki rek’atlık müekked namazın sübutu ile ilgili herhangi bir ihtilaf olmamakla birlikte bu namazın dışında nâfile namaz kılınması, rek’at sayısı ve isimlendirilmesi konusunda tartışmaların olduğu görülmektedir. Bununla birlikte evvâbîn namazı olarak isimlendirilen namaz, gerçekte akşam namazı ile yatsı namazı arasında kılınan namaz mı? Yoksa duha vaktinde kılınan kuşluk namazının diğer adı mıdır? Makalede bu soruların cevaplarını bulmak üzere Resûlullah ve sahabenin evvâbîn namazını hangi vakitte kıldıklarını ve kılınmasını tavsiye ettiklerine dair rivayetleri araştırdık. Araştırmamızda evvâbîn namazının akşam ile yatsı namazları arasında kılındığına dair Hz. Peygamber’e (s.a.v.) isnad edilen sahih ve merfu bir rivayete ulaşamadığımız gibi sahabilerden de bu vakitte kılınan namazın evvâbîn olduğuna dair aktarılan rivayetlerin çoğunluğunun zayıf olduğunu tespit ettik. Ayrıca bu iddia, sahabenin görüşleri olup daha çok Kur’ân ayetlerini tefsir etmek amacıyla söylenmiştir. Evvâbîn namazının kuşluk namazı olduğuna dair rivayetler hem daha sahih hem de hepsi merfu rivayetlerdir. Kanaatimizce evvâbîn namazı olarak bilinen ve akşam ile yatsı namazları arasında kılındığı kabul edilen bu namaz, kuşluk vaktinde kılınan kuşluk namazıyla aynı olup, ayrıca bir nâfile namaz değildir. Bu itibarla; bu makalede nihai hedefimiz mezkûr konuda sahih ve merfu bir rivayet olup olmadığını araştırmaktır.
