Bu çalışmanın amacı, 10 haftalık aerobik (yüzme, The purpose of this study was to determine the efbisiklet ve koşu) ve direnç türü (Swiss-ball) egzersizlerinin genç yetişkin erkek üniversite öğrencilerinde sosyal fizik kaygı (SFK) üzerine etkilerini belirlemektir. Çalışmanın örneklemini yaşları 19-27 arasında değişen 103 erkek (site öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcılar aerobik (n=34), swiss ball (n=27) ve kontrol olmak (n=35) üzere üç gruba ayrılmışlardır. Swiss ball ve aerobik grubundaki katılımcılar haftada üç (Pazartesi-ÇarşambaCuma) seans ve günde 40 dakika olmak üzere 10 hafta boyunca egzersizlere devam ederken, kontrol grubundaki katılımcılar herhangi bir fiziksel aktiviteye katılmamışlardır. Tekrarlı ölçümlerde varyans analizi sonuçları, Swiss ball egzersizlerine katılan bireylerin 10 haftalık sürede sosyal fizik kaygı düzeylerinin hem kontrol hem de aerobik egzersiz grubundaki bireylere oranla anlamlı biçimde düştüğünü belirlemiştir. Buna karşın 10 haftalık aerobik egzersizlere katılan bireylerin sosyal fizik kaygı düzeyleri kontrol grubu ile karşılaştırıldığında anlamlı farklılık olmadığı gözlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, bedene yönelik psikolojik tutumların iyileştirilmesi amacıyla kullanılan aerobik egzersiz uygulamalarından ziyade kas kuvvetini artırmaya yönelik direnç türü egzersizlerin genç yetiskin erkeklerde sosyal fizik kaygı değerlerini düşürmede daha etkili bir egzersiz türü olabileceği söylenebilir
