FACEBOOK ABUSE IN PRESS AND ITS REFLECTIONS ON SOCIETY

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the incidents of abuse in Facebook with a focus on the way they are reflected in the printed media. This purpose, the study scanned the news about Facebook abuse between the years 2009-2010 in Turkish newspapers Milliyet, Sabah and Zaman. In order to analyze the collected data, “document analysis” and “content analysis” methods were used. The data revealed that those who had a Facebook account were exposed to varrying verbal, and physical abuses in some way or another in terms of personal relationships. BASINDA "FACEBOOK İSTİSMARI" VE TOPLUMDAKİ YANSIMALARI

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Facebook.com adlı internet sitesinde meydana gelen istismar olaylarını gazetelerde yer alan haberler aracılığıyla incelemektir. Bu doğrultuda, 2009- 2010 yılları arasında Milliyet, Sabah ve Zaman gazetelerinde yer alan Facebook istismarına yönelik haberler taranmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan veriler Sabah, Milliyet ve Zaman gazetelerinde yer alan Facebook İstismarı ile ilgili haberlerin taranması sonucu elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde, “doküman incelemesi” tekniği ve “içerik analizi” yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre, Facebook hesabı bulunan bireylerin sözel, fiziksel, yasal olmayan yollarla ve kişiler arası ilişkiler noktasında çeşitli istismarlara maruz kaldıkları belirlenmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde konuyla ilgili önerilerde bulunulmuştur
