Kemoterapiye Bağlı Gelişen Bulantı ve Kusmanın Yönetiminde Akupres Uygulamasının Etkinliği: Sistematik Derleme

Öz

Giriş: Kemoterapiye bağlı gelişen bulantı ve kusma onkoloji hastalarında görülen en yaygın ve en rahatsız edici iki semptomdur. Onkoloji hemşirelerinin bu semptomların yönetiminde önemli rol ve sorumlulukları bulunmaktadır.

Amaç: Bu sistematik derleme kemoterapiye bağlı gelişen bulantı ve kusmanın yönetiminde akupres uygulamasının etkinliğini araştıran çalışmaları sistematik olarak incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.

Yöntem: Sistematik derlemede PRISMA-P (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic review and Meta-Analysis Protocols) rehber esas alınmıştır. Araştırma veri tabanları olarak PUBMED, Google Akademik ve YÖK Tez Merkezi kullanılmıştır. Derlemede “acupressure”, “chemotheraphy”, “nausea”,

“vomiting”, “nursing” ve “therapy” anahtar kelimeleri kullanılarak tarama yapılmıştır. Bu sistematik derlemeye; yayın dili Türkçe ya da İngilizce olan, kemoterapiye bağlı gelişen bulantı ve kusmanın yönetiminde P6 noktasına akupres uygulanan, son on yılda yayınlanmış olan (2009-2019) ve tam metnine ulaşılabilen araştırmalar dahil edilmiştir.

Bulgular: Sistematik derlemeye altı adet deneysel araştırma, beş adet yarı-deneysel araştırma olmak üzere toplam 11 çalışma (1029 katılımcı) dahil edilmiştir. Çalışmaların dört tanesi bilek bandı ile akupres uygulamasının etkili, üç tanesi ise etkisiz olduğunu bildirmiştir. Parmak kullanarak basınç yöntemiyle akupres uygulayan çalışmaların üçü uygulamanın etkili, biri ise etkisiz olduğunu belirtmiştir.

Sonuç: Çalışmalar onkoloji hemşirelerinin kemoterapi alan hastalarda tedaviye bağlı gelişen bulantı ve kusmanın yönetiminde noninvaziv, güvenli ve etkin bir uygulama olarak akupresi kullanabileceğini desteklemektedir.

The Efficiency of the Acupressure in the Management of Chemotherapy- Induced Nausea and Vomiting: Systematic Review

Öz

Introduction: Chemotherapy related nausea and vomiting are the most common and disturbing the two symptoms observed in oncology patients. Oncology nurses have important roles and responsibilities in the management of these symptoms.

Aim: This systematic review was conducted to investigate systematically the studies that assess the efficiency of the acupressure in the management of chemotherapy related nausea and vomiting.

Method: The population of this review consisted of 154 articles which were obtained by searching on “PUBMED” database and “Google Scholar” and “YOKSIS Theses in Turkey”. In this review, the studies were selected as full texts by searching with key words “acupressure”, “chemotherapy”, “nausea”, “vomiting”, “nursing” and “therapy” and they were published in English and Turkish languages in the last decade (2009-2019).

Results: The sample of the study comprised 11 articles that the number of participants was 1029. Four of the studies that applied the wrist band to the P6 point and three of the studies that applied the finger pressure to the P6 point reported that it was effective in the management of chemotherapy related nausea and vomiting symptoms. Three of the studies that applied the wrist band to the P6 point and one of the studies that applied the pressure to the P6 point reported that it was not effective for the management of chemotherapy-related nausea and vomiting symptoms.

Conclusion: Oncology nurses can use acupressure as a non-invasive, safe and effective application for the management of chemotherapy-related nausea and vomiting symptoms.
