Son otuz beş yılda, maliye politikasının konjonktür karşıtı bir araç olarak kullanımı popülaritesini yitirmiştir. Bununla birlikte, 2007 ortalarında başlayan finansal kriz, 2008 sonbaharında zirvesine ulaştığında her şey çok fazla değişmiştir. Bu çalışma, İngiltere’deki ekonomik durumdaki kötüleşmeye karşı bir araç olarak maliye politikasının rolünü analiz eder. Maliye politikası, politika alternatifleri oluşturmada ve şokları ve dengesizlikleri yönetmede önemli olmaya devam eder
