The epidemiologic analysis of ambulatory surgical treatments during a 10-year period

Öz

Aim: The aim of this retrospective study
was to evaluate the ambulatory surgical operations under local anesthesia with a
10 year period regarding to demographic data, frequency of the interventions
and distribution of years.

Material and
Method
: Demographic data and treatments of patients who underwent ambulatory
surgical operations between January 2009 and December 2018 were analyzed. The
results were analyzed by
Chi-squared tests (p<0.05).

Results: Fourty-six percent of the patients were
female and 53% were male. The age range is from 11 to 96 years, with mean age
of 40.36. The distribution of the patients was highest in the 51-60 age group
(17.13%) and lowest in the 81 and older age group (1.95%). Tooth extraction
(67%), implant (14%) and impacted tooth extraction (7%) were determined as the
most common operations respectively. While the female distribution was
statistically higher in arthrosynthesis, biopsy, epulis-fibrom removal,
frenectomy, impacted tooth extraction, orthodontic exposition and
reimplantation; male participants were statistically higher in trauma, tooth
extraction and cyst operations (
p<0,05).
Although distribution of patients varies over the years, no statistically
difference was found (
p<0,05).











Conclusion: The analysis of ambulatory surgical
treatments provides insightful data for institutions serving in this field. The
accurate planning of quality improvement, enhancing oral surgery curricula and
promoting patients’ awareness of the importance of oral health can be achieved
with these data.

Günübirlik Cerrahi Tedavilerin 10 Yıllık Epidemiyolojik Analizi

Öz

Amaç: Bu retrospektif çalışmada 10
yıl içerisinde lokal anestezi altında uygulanan günübirlik cerrahi tedavilerin
demografik verilere, yapılan işlemlerin sıkılığına ve yıllara göre dağılımını
analiz etmek amaçlanmıştır.

Gereç ve Yöntem: Ocak 2009 ile Aralık 2018
tarihleri arasında günübirlik cerrahi tedavi gören hastaların demografik
verileri ve uygulanan tedaviler incelenmiştir.
Sonuçlar ki-kare
testi ile değerlendirilmiştir (p<0,05).

Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan hastaların %46’sı
erkek, %53’ü kadın olarak tespit edildi. Katılımcıların yaş aralıkları 11-96
arası değişirken, yaş ortalaması 40,36 olarak bulundu. Hasta yoğunluğu  en fazla 51-60 yaş grubunda (%17,13), en az
81 yaş üstü (%1,95) grupta bulunmuştur. Diş çekimi (%67), implant (%14) ve
gömülü diş çekimi (%7) sırasıyla en sık uygulanan tedaviler olarak tespit edilmiştir.
Artrosentez, biyopsi, epulis-fibrom operasyonu, frenektomi, gömülü diş çekimi,
implant, komplikasyonlu diş çekimi, kök ucu rezeksiyonu, ortodontik amaçlı
gömülü dişlerin üzerinin açılması ve reimplantasyon tedavilerinde kadın
hastaların dağılımları; çene kırığı, diş çekimi ve kist operasyonlarında ise
erkek hastaların dağılımları istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek
bulunmuştur (
p<0,05).
Hastaların yıllara göre dağılımları değişiklik gösterse de istatistiksel olarak
anlamlı bir fark bulunamamıştır (
p<0,05).











Sonuç: Günübirlik cerrahi tedavilerin
analizi bu alanda hizmet veren kurumlar için aydınlatıcı verilere sahip
olmaktadır. Kalitenin iyileştirilmesi için planlama yapılması, oral cerrahi
eğitiminin geliştirilmesi ve hastaların ağız sağlığının önemi konusunda
farkındalığının artırılması bu verilerle sağlanabilir.
