Effects of Diets Including Different Levels of Protein and Energy on Broilers Performance

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effects of different energy and protein levels of diets on broiler performance. Two hundred and eighty eight broilers were used. and fed during 42 days. The birds were divided into three treatment groups. These groups received following diets: 1. group; 24 % crude protein, 3200 kcal/kg ME, 2. group; 23 % crude protein, 3100 kcal/kg ME, 3. group; 22 % crude protein, 3000 kcal/kg ME during 10 days from the beginning of experiment. 1. group; 23 % crude protein, 3200 kcal/kg ME, 2. group; 22 % crude protein, 3100 kcal/kg ME, 3. group; 21 % crude protein, 3000 kcal/kg ME between 11–21 days. 1. group; 22 % crude protein, 3200 kcal/kg ME, 2. group; 21 % crude protein, 3100 kcal/kg ME, 3. group; 20 % crude protein, 3000 kcal/kg ME between 22–42 days. It was found that increasing crude protein and energy levels in broiler rations increased live weight gain. As a result, it was seen that growth and feed conversion ratio of broilers were affected by energy and protein level of the diet.
