Maxilada Geniş Uzantılı Epidermoid Kist: Olgu Sunumu

Abstract

Epidermoid kistler ektoderm kaynaklı benign yumuşak doku malformasyonlarıdır ve baş boyun bölgesinde ender olarak görülür. Dermoid ve epidermoid kistler oral kavitede çoğunlukla submental bölge, dil, lateral faringeal duvar ve yumuşak damakta lokalize olurlar. Bu lezyonlar kongenital olarak görülebilir veya travma sonrası sonradan meydana gelebilir. Epidermoid kistler klinik olarak, yavaşça büyüyen, ağrısız, sınırları düzenli, sert şişlikler şeklinde görülür. Bu olgu sunumunda, anterior ve posterior sol maksiller bölgede oluşan, maksiller sinüs ve infratemporal bölgeye kadar uzanan epidermoid kistin cerrahi tedavisi ile birlikte ameliyat sonrası takibi sunulmaktadır.

A Large Extension of Epidermoid Cyst in Maxilla: Case Report

Abstract

Epidermoid cysts are benign soft tissue malformations originated from ectoderm and rarely seen in head and neck region. Dermoid and epidermoid cysts are localized mostly in submental region, tongue, lateral pharyngeal wall and soft palate in the oral cavity. These lesions can be congenital or acquired as a result of trauma. Clinically, they are slowly-enlarged, painless, well-encircled firm protuberances. In this case report, we present a rare epidermoid cyst in the anterior and posterior left maxillary region and its extension to the maxillary sinus and infratemporal area with its surgical treatment and postoperative follow-up.
