Determination of Nutritional Status of Sugar Beet (Beta vulgaris L.) Grown in Tekirdag-Hayrabolu Region

Öz

This stuy was conducted to evaluate the nutritional status and the nutritional problems of sugar beet grown in Tekirdağ-Hayabolu Region. For this purpose, soil and leaf samples of sugar beet were collected from 30 different field. Soil and leaf samples were analysed for their N, P, K, Na, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn and Mn contents. Nutritional status of sugar beet was evaluated by comparing the results of analyses with the interpretative values for the nutrients. According to the results, N, P, K, Na, Ca and Mg contents of sugar beet leaf samples were found sufficient or high. On the other hand, Fe, Zn and Mn contents of sugar beet leaf samples were found insufficient, generally. Therefore, it was suggested that microelements fertilizers should be used for sugar beet in this region.
