The Consructural Analyse of Beef Cattle Production Farms in Konya
Öz
This research was carried out in totally 56 beef barn, 39 tie beef houses and 17 loose housing that selected from 36 beef cattle production farms in Konya province. The suitability of barn for cattle growing was researched by testing of the building constructions and general properties of the farms. As a result, it was determined that the land existence of many farms was less than 1 ha. The loose housing, generally were built in 1998 and later, were also evaluated as insufficient in terms of barn design. The animal density in bed area was found 2.0 – 6.0 m2/animal in 62.50 % of the loose houses whereas lot area was found under 5.0 m2/animal level in 53.33 % of them. The feed length of animal were generally higher than 0.60 m for free beef barn. It was observed that the tie beef cattle were found inappropriate in point of building construction and layout. Generally, the company owners already have a tendency of preferring free and free stall beef house in recent years.
