Functional Analysis of Cotton in The Harran Plain of Şanlıurfa Province
Öz
In this study, the regression between input and output in cotton production was determinated by Cobb-Douglas produc-tion function in Harran plain, Şanlıurfa province. The cotton choosed as a subject because it was the most planted and also intensive input used product in the research area. The basic data were collected from 75 farms which were sellected by strati-fied random sampling method, and questionnaires were applied on them. The data were cover the production period of 2002-2003. As a result of functional analysis yield per decar, insectiside use, irrigation number, labour and machinery power were significant. The determination coefficient was R2 =% 82,8. According to the analysis, insectiside use was higher than as it needs, the nımber of irrigation was lesser than as it needs, labour force and machinery power were used efficiently.
