Determination of the Population Development of Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) in Tomato in Semi-arid Areas

Öz

This study was carried out in Konya province (Karatay, Meram and Çumra towns) in 2012 and it was determined that the population development of Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) with the pherome traps in tomatoes which were grown in fields and greenhouses. We placed 17 sexual pheromone traps for this purpose at previously selected areas. These traps were checked weekly and the population development of the pest was monitored by recording the adults that caught in the traps. The highest number of adults that were caught in traps in grenhouses in Karatay and Meram towns on 23.08.2012 were 278 and 323, respectively, in Çumra town on 11.09.2012 were 78. The highest number of adults in traps which were placed in fields in Meram and Çumra towns on 26.07.2012 and 21.08.2012 were 285 and 455, respectively.
