Determination of Combining Abilities and Heterosis in 5x5 Half Diallel Cross Population of Bread Wheat Under Dry Condition

In the study, five bread wheat genotypes, developed for The Central Anatolia and Transitional Zone, and 10 F1 genotypes obtained from 5x5 half diallel crossing, have been tested in dry condition. The chlorophyll content of flag leaf, stay green of flag leaf, ash content of flag leaf, peduncle length, plant height, grain number in the spike,1000 grain weight and grain yield were investigated in the research. At dry conditions, Konya-2002 variety might be used as parent in wheat breeding for flag leaf chlorophyll content, stay green of flag leaf, flag leaf ash content, 1000 grain weight and single plant grain yield, Ah-metağa for flag leaf chlorophyll content, flag leaf ash content, number of grain in the spike, YC 45 for peduncle length, plant height and the number of grain in the spike and YC 52 for peduncle lenght, plant height and 1000 grains weight of YC 52 could be used in breeding activities. It has been found out that parents and combinations used in this study has potential to be used in National Wheat Breeding Program.
