Effects of Boron Application on The Yield and Quality of Some Poppy (Papaver somniferum L.) Varieties – I (Yield, Yield Components and Phonological Observation)

This research was conducted to determine the effects of different boron levels on yield and yield components of four poppy varieties during 2002-2003 growing season under Afyon ecological conditions in experiment field of Kocatepe Agricultural Research Institute. The experiment was designed according to” Split Plot on Randomized Complete Blok” with four replications, the varieties (Ankara 94, Kocatepe 96, Afyon Kalesi 95 ve Karahisar 96) were put into place to main plots and boron doses (control, 0.1 kg B/da, 0.3 kg B/da, 0.9 kg B/da, 3.6 kg B/da) were put into place to sub plots, respectively. In this research, plant height, number of capsule per plant, number of plant in harvest, capsule-seed ratio, seed and capsule yield, emergence, flowering and vegetation period were terminated. As a result, the effects of different boron doses on the seed and capsule yield, number of plant in harvest period were found significant differences whereas the effects of boron doses on the number of capsule per plant, and plant height was not determinated important. According to the results of this research, the highest plant height, number of capsule per plant, number of plant in harvest period, seed and capsule yield were obtained from application of 0.1 kg B/da. It was found significant genotipic variations to response to boron applications between varieties .Karahisar 96 variety had highest seed and capsul yield.

Bor Uygulamasının Bazı Haşhaş (Papaver somniferum L.) Çeşitlerinin Verim ve Kalitesi Üzerine Etkisi – I (Verim, Verim Unsurları ve Fenolojik Gözlemler)

Öz

Bu araştırma, 2002-2003 yetiştirme sezonunda Afyon ili Kocatepe Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü deneme tarlasında dört farklı haşhaş çeşidine uygulanan farklı bor dozlarının verim, verim unsurları ve fenolojik özellikler üzerine etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla yürütülmüştür. “Tesadüf Bloklarında Bölünmüş Parseller” deneme desenine göre dört tekerrürlü olarak kurulan bu araştırmada, Ankara 94, Kocatepe 96, Afyon Kalesi 95 ve Karahisar 96 haşhaş çeşitleri üzerine 0 (kontrol), 0.1 kg B/da, 0.3 kg B/da, 0.9 kg B/da ve 3.6 kg B/da bor dozlarının etkileri incelenmiştir. Araştırmada; bitki boyu, bitki başına kapsül sayısı, hasat döneminde bitki sayısı, kapsül-tohum oranı, tohum verimi ve kapsül verimine ait ölçüm ve analizler yanında çıkış, çiçeklenme ve vejetasyon süresine ait fenolojik gözlemler yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, bor uygulamalarının kullanılan çeşitlerde tohum verimi, kapsül verimi, kapsül-tohum oranı ve hasat döneminde bitki sayısı üzerine etkisi istatistiki bakımdan önemli bulunurken, bitki boyu ve bitkideki kapsül sayısı üzerine etkisi önemsiz bulunmuştur. Uygulanan bor dozu 0.1 kg B/da’a arttırıldığında bu değerlerde kontrole göre artışlar, bor dozunun yükselmesi ile azalmalar belirlenmiş ve 3.6 kg B/da uygulamasının verim değerleri üzerinde toksik etkisi tespit edilmiştir. Çeşitler arasında bor uygulamasına tepki yönünden önemli genotipik varyasyon görülmüştür. Karahisar -96 çeşidi tohum ve kapsül verimi yönünden ilk sırada yer almıştır.
