Response of Sugar Beets and Associated Weeds to Some Herbicides

Öz

During two years was applicated this winter sugar beets research in R.C.B. design. The treatments included two different concentrations of Barban, Cycloate, Dalapon, Metolachior, Phenmedipham and Pyrazon herbicides in addition to mechanical, hand weeding and control. Weeds and sugar beets samples were taken during the growing seasons and the following studies were: 1. Numbers of weeds and its dry weights. 2. Fresh root weights, percent of Brix, total leaf area and number of leaves in each sugar beet plant. The treatment of pyrazon 6 kg/ha was significantly important in weed control and it did not affect the growth of sugar beet plants during both growing seasotis, so it is dependable treatment between all treatments.

Şeker Pancarının ve Birlikte Bulunan Yabancı Otların Bazı Herbisitlere Karşı Tepkileri

Öz

İki yıl içerisinde tam tesadüf blokları desenine uygun olarak bu kışlık şeker pancarı araştırması yapılmıştır. Varyantları; Barban, Cycloate. Dalapon, Metolachlor, Phenmedip- ham ve Pyrazon herbicide'lerinin ikişer değişik dozlarından başka, mekaniki ve elle yabancı ot mücadelesi ve şahitten meydana gelmiştir. Büyüme mevsimi içerisinde, yabancı otlardan ve şeker pancatı bitkilerinden alınmış olan örnekler üzerinde şu incelemer yapılmıştır : 1. Yabancı ot sayısı ve kuru ağırlığı 2. Bir şeker pancarı bitkisinde yaprak sayısı, toplam yaprak alanı, yaş kök gövdesi ağırlığı ve öz suyunda kuru madde oranı. Yabancı ot mücadelesinde 6 kg/ha Pyrazon istatistiksel olarak her iki mevsimde de önemli çıkmış, şeker pancarı bitkilerinin büyümelerini etkilememiş ve böylece varyantlar arasında en güvenilir olduğu gözlenmiştir.
