Öz

Increasing chronic diseases as a result of the aging of the world population will increase the pressure on the health system. Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to manage their health will reduce the burden of the health system. Therefore, in recent years, the concept of patient empowerment, which is defined as health promotion, the process of enabling people to increase and improve their control over their health, has begun to make its importance felt in the health sector. In addition, it is revealed that patients with chronic diseases are at greater risk in the current pandemic, so they are adversely affected physically and mentally. For this reason, the importance of patient empowerment and the necessity of a patient-centered approach emerge. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of patient empowerment on mental well-being of patients with chronic illness who have Covid-19 disease. For the sample of the study, data is collected by applying a questionnaire to 110 Covid-19 patients living in the provinces in the selected TRB1 region. As a result of the analysis, a positive relationship is determined between patient empowerment and mental well-being.

COVİD-19 PANDEMİSİ DÖNEMİNDE HASTA GÜÇLENDİRMENİN MENTAL İYİ OLUŞA ETKİSİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Dünya nüfusunun giderek yaşlanması göz önüne alındığında doğal bir sonuç olan kronik rahatsızlıkların artışından dolayı sağlık sistemi üzerindeki baskı giderek artacaktır. Fakat bireylerin sağlıklarını yönetmek için ilgili paydaşlarla işbirliği içerisinde olmaları sağlık sisteminin yükünü azaltabilir. Bu sebeple son yıllarda sağlığın teşviki, insanların sağlıkları üzerindeki kontrollerini artırmalarını ve iyileştirmelerini sağlama süreci olarak tanımlanan hasta güçlendirme kavramı sağlık sektöründeki önemini iyice hissettirmeye başlamıştır. Ayrıca kronik rahatsızlığı olanların mevcut pandemide daha fazla risk altında olduğu için fiziksel ve mental olarak olumsuz etkilendikleri göz önüne alındığında hasta güçlendirmenin önemi ve hasta merkezli bir yaklaşımın gerekliliği ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı kronik rahatsızlığı bulunan Covid-19 hastalığına yakalanmış olan hastaların hasta güçlendirmelerinin mental iyi oluşlarına etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemi için seçilen TRB1 bölgesindeki illerde ikamet eden 110 Covid-19 hastasına anket uygulanarak veriler toplanmıştır. Yapılan analizler neticesinde hasta güçlendirme ile mental iyi oluş arasında pozitif yönlü bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir.
